Did you know that we are not only the world’s largest flower and gift relay company – servicing nearly 150 countries through 50,000 member florists with 600 of them in Australia – we are also the world’s longest serving flower delivery network?
With nearly 100 years of experience in delivering flowers, 60 of those in Australia, we pride ourselves on being one of the world's most recognised and trusted brands.
Our Mercury Man logo is recognised worldwide as a symbol of swift and timely delivery and the very best quality handcrafted floral gifts.
Used in over 140 countries, this symbol has been developed into numerous interpretations across nations.
Recently we have refreshed Interflora Australia’s logo, bringing it in line with other Interflora countries around the world, and creating one recognisable global symbol for flowers worldwide.
We hope that by doing so, our customers will know they are supported by the Interflora guarantee wherever they shop and wherever they travel.
Interflora guarantees the freshness, flower quality and value of every Interflora relay order…
We deliver flowers, hampers and gifts, virtually anywhere, anytime, and for any occasion.
Orders are placed within Australia – or sent from Australia to anywhere in the world – through Interflora’s Australian Headquarters in Melbourne.
These orders are sent to our member florists to ensure that fresh flowers are expertly handcrafted locally and delivered with loving care.
Your loved ones might be overseas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t show you’re thinking of them by sending a personal gift of fresh flowers.
With Interflora you can send fresh flowers around the world thanks to our international network of florists, including FTD and Fleurop.
You can be assured that your gift is created and fulfilled by one of our local expert florists in the country of delivery. They’ll make sure the finest local flower varieties are arranged with care and look sensational on arrival.
The famous Mercury Man logo, used by Interflora, FTD and Fleurop has been a symbol of flower delivery for almost one hundred years and continues to be a mark of quality and service.
Almost 100 years ago, expressing personal messages through flowers wasn’t easy, with transportation issues getting in the way of the sender and their florist.
At the time, florists on differing sides of towns exchanged orders at flower markets and made their financial settlement based on their personal relationship.
The relaying or exchanging of orders by wire began operating in Germany in 1908 and America as early as 1910.
The growth of relaying flower orders from one florist to another accelerated, but not to any great extent. This was until World War II, when troops away from home added impetus to the sending of flowers by wire.
Once the war was over, florists on both sides of the Atlantic recognised that a formal agreement would be necessary to develop the interest generated through the war years into a peace-time venture.
On July 22nd 1946, representatives of America, Britain and Europe met in Copenhagen, Denmark to create Interflora Incorporated as it is known today.
It is interesting to note that part of the original agreement stated; “for our respective associations we pledge to further its interests so that the world may be better served and the friendship of nations cemented through the medium of flowers”.
Today we continue this legacy, facilitating the delivery of messages of love, congratulations, sorrow, and best wishes around the world.
