A Love of Flowers That Started in Childhood

For Jacinta from Jacinta’s Flower Studio in Geelong, floristry didn’t begin in a shop
… it began in her Nan’s garden.
As a child, she would pick flowers and make small posies for anyone who would take
them. By high school, floristry already felt like the only path she wanted to follow.
Work experience at a local florist soon turned into a Saturday job, and even though
those early days involved cleaning buckets and preparing stems rather than
arranging bouquets, she knew she had found where she belonged.

A Career Built on Connection and Community

After finishing Year 12 without a full-time floristry role secured, Jacinta prepared to
enrol at university … until a local florist called with an apprenticeship opportunity.
She accepted immediately and never looked back.
More than 20 years later, she continues to support the Geelong community through
life’s most meaningful moments: celebrations, milestones, sympathy gestures and
everyday surprises. For Jacinta, floristry has always been about connection as much
as creativity.

The Beauty of Working with Seasonal Flowers

One of Jacinta’s favourite parts of floristry is working with what each season brings.
Autumn offers rich tones and beautiful texture, especially through foliage and late-
season dahlias. Seasonal flowers are often fresher, longer lasting and better value,
making them a wonderful choice for thoughtful gifting.
Right now, tulips are another favourite recommendation for a simple but meaningful
“just because” gesture.

Why Sending Through a Local Interflora Florist Matters

Ordering from a florist like Jacinta means more than sending flowers - it means
supporting a local business that carefully prepares every arrangement by hand.
As part of the Interflora network, Jacinta can also confidently send flowers across
Australia and overseas, knowing each delivery will be created with the same level of
care wherever it arrives.
Her advice is simple: If you’re thinking about sending flowers, do it - even a single
bloom can brighten someone’s day.
