6 Reasons why mums are so great

At the end of the day you just couldn’t live without your mum, they’re irreplaceable for all the good reasons. Your mother is someone you can always turn to, no matter how old you are or where you are in the world.

While you appreciate them for everything they do, sometimes it’s easy to forget to show them your gratitude. So, we’ve come up with six reasons to remind you why mums are the best, and why you should call her for a long chat, hug her tightly or send her an unexpected flower delivery.

1. She Gave You Life

They’re the ones who brought us into this world and we often forget to be grateful for the simple things in life, like being given the chance to live and be the people we are today. This might be the most obvious reason but it’s the most important – she gave birth to you and gave you life! With that came along the responsibility to love and support you. For this alone they deserve a medal.

2. Your Lifetime Best Friend

Whether you are worried about a situation or ecstatic to let her know good news, they are always the first person you call first. Whether it’s to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on, mum knows best.

3. She Has Seen You Through It All

Mums are our biggest supporters and our #1 fan. They’ve loved us from our innocent child days and the awkward teenage phase, and now even as complex adults. Although they can get frustrated with us at times and vice versa, you know that they’ll always be there for us, to cheer us on when we win and comfort us when we don’t.

4. She is the Epitome of Unconditional Love

From her selfless actions to the sacrifices, the love of a mother never wavers. They’ve made countless sacrifices just to keep us going. Half of it goes unnoticed but that doesn’t stop them from doing everything in their power for us while not expecting anything in return.

5. She’s Your Superhero

Just like everyone else, mums have their own flaws and insecurities, but they always put up a brave front. They teach us so many simple life lessons through their actions, without which we wouldn’t be where we are today. Mums really are real-life Wonder Women – tough and amazingly strong.

6. She Always Has Your Best Interests At Heart

Tough love can often be misunderstood but it’s pure and authentic motherly concern and compassion. They get mad at us only because they care, and we grow to realise it was all worth it.
