Celebrate All Forms of Love This Year

Valentine’s Day is that time of the year where we see an excessive number of red roses, pink décor, chocolates and other displays of affection by couples. But why should this day be limited to those who aren't in the thralls of romantic bliss? At Interflora, we believe this day is meant to celebrate all forms of love in order to make the day a more inclusive celebration. We’re talking about the bond between you and your parents, your family, your work wives, your bestie, platonic love or even self-love – you get the idea. While those connections are not romantic, you can’t deny that these relationships are not equally important and are worth acknowledging. So, this Valentine's Day, expand the meaning of love in your life to include all those special people, whether you're flying solo or are in a relationship, let them know how much you love them. Here are some forms of love that deserve to be celebrated!

Your work BFF

Even though you love your job so much that you waltz through the door each day, there will be dull days where things don’t go as planned or work seems like a struggle. Those are the days you know you can count on your work bestie or work wives to whinge to or laugh with. This Valentine’s Day shows them just how much their encouragement and support mean to you. Even if you simply want to thank your colleague who always replaces the toilet roll or the one who makes sure the coffee is stocked in the pantry. Why not thank them this day for being ace?

Friendship

Friends are basically the family you’ve chosen – could be your bestie, your housemate or someone you just got to know during the lockdown. You’d agree we all have that one best mate in our lives who has seen it all and still reckons we're alright. Spend time with your chosen loved ones and celebrate each other this Valentine’s Day. Label it as Galentine’s Day or call it bromance, but don’t forget to use this day to let them know what they mean to you and how much you care for them.

Family Love

Your folks and siblings may be a major part of your family, but apart from them, there are your grandparents, cousins, carers, aunts, uncles, your childhood best friend or even could be your love your found family of friends and neighbours. Afterall, a family is what you make it. This Valentine’s Day remind your parents how much they mean to you or make your kids feel special. Whatever the case, let them know they’re loved because the love of a family deserves to be celebrated.

Self-Love

In all that bargain, don’t forget to love yourself. There's nothing selfish about it. Just treat yourself kindly and show love and regard for your own well-being and happiness – it’s a foundation of a positive life. This Valentine’s Day, know that you deserve a little "me time" and take a minute for yourself and do the things that bring a smile to your face.

Romantic Love

Lastly, the most obvious type of love and commonly associated with Valentine's Day. Don’t take this any other way, but we absolutely think romance and togetherness is something worth celebrating. So, whether you're celebrating your first love or forever love, make sure you take every chance to show your partner how much you love them.
