If you’re spending your Christmas in Paris this year, don’t miss out on some of these quintessential festive season experiences. Christmas markets can be found all around the city but the most atmospheric ones can be found in on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, at Trocadero (near the Eiffel Tower), at Montmartre and at the Carrousel du Louvre where there is the delectable Gourmet Christmas Market.
Ice Skating
If you’re spending Christmas in Paris and you are also lover of ice skating, then you’re in luck! Enjoy skating around the rinks in front of the Hôtel de Ville, at the Champs Elysée Christmas market rink and at the Trocadéro On Ice. What better way is there to make the most of a Parisian winter wonderland?
Christmas Lights
If you love Christmas lights there are some spots in Paris you simply cannot miss! Naturally the Champs-Élysées is a must - eco-friendly glittering lights line the renowned avenue at Christmastime adding to the magic of this luxury shopping district. From Champs-Élysées, continue down to Avenue Montaigne for more glowing light displays. Be sure to head to Bercy Village, Rue Mouffetard and Place Vendome to really have your fill of Parisian Christmas lights.

If there’s anything at all that Paris has an abundance of, beside fine wine and delectable pastries, it’s art. There are many museums and galleries that visitors can traipse through during their holiday in Paris at any time of year but this festive season there are a few special exhibitions that visitors can take in during their Christmas stay in Paris. Between December 15 and December 26 the ‘Splendeurs et misères’ exhibition will come to the Musée d’Orsay, featuring work from Manet, Degas and Picasso. There’s also the ‘Les Actrices’ exhibition on show, which provides an insight into the portrayal of female film stars in early 20th century promotional posters at the Fondation Seydoux-Pathé.
