1. The US celebrates Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June, and in 2015, the expected total spend on Father's Day gifts was $12.7 billion, with 76% of Americans planning to celebrate Father's Day and $116USD being the average spend per person on Father's Day according to the IB Times.
2. Despite predicted Father’s Day spending of $12.7 billion, the amount spent on Father's Day in the US is still less than what is spent on Mother's Day, which is around $21 billion according to the IB Times.
3. Father's Day is the fourth-biggest day for sending greeting cards, after Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, according to the Greeting Card Association.
4. In Germany, Father's Day is called Männertag (Men’s day). The day is celebrated with wagons of beer and regional cuisine.
5. Although it’s traditional for children to present gifts and cards to their dads, the IB Times says that around 20% of Father's Day cards are bought for husbands.
6. Father’s Day around the world is celebrated very differently, especially in Thailand where Father's Day is celebrated in December on the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and everyone wears yellow.
7. Neckties are the most common gifts given on Father's Day, followed by flowers.
